Angry face with open mouth
Description
The TikTok [astonish] emoji is an intense face with wide, angry-looking eyes, a dropped open mouth, and slightly furrowed brows that mix shock with mild outrage. Unlike [surprised], which is clean amazement, [astonish] has an edge, like you cannot believe what you just saw and you have opinions about it. The mixed expression makes it great for reactions that fall between shock and disbelief. On TikTok, people use it for scandalous storytimes, drama reveals, and wild plot twists where the viewer is both shocked and a little mad. It also fits reactions to "he said what?" moments in couple videos, entitled customer clips, and outrageous public behavior footage.
Usage
Drop [astonish] when a video shocks you in a way that also makes you a little mad. It works great on drama storytimes, entitled customer clips, and "you won't believe" reveals. Try things like "how do people act like this [astonish]" or "I am losing my mind [astonish] [astonish]". Creators use it in captions like "read the caption before you judge [astonish]". Pair it with [stun] for extra disbelief or with [angry] when you are mostly outraged. Skip it on cute or wholesome content, since its partly-angry expression will read as disapproval instead of amazement in gentle contexts.
